Sorry for bringing up ideas that probably aren't the main concern right
now, but I've been thinking about trackers and pattern sequences..  I
think it would be good to have a system that's more flexible than the
traditional tracker one - we should be able to have pattern sequences
with an arbitrary arrangement of simultanous/overlapping patterns of
various lengths.  Maybe each tracker, piano roll, or other
pattern-editing object could have an associated set of patterns, and the
order list, where all of the patterns are arranged in order, could have
a 'track' for each one of those objects in which its patterns could be
arranged alongside the patterns of the other objects.

Actually, it could be more flexible - the order list could just allow
all patterns to be arranged in arbitrary positions (at tick or beat
resolution) with any kind of overlap desired.

What are your plans for this, David?
