bicubic_tm.m is exactly what was missing in my implementation! Unless you can
find an example in which scattered interpolation with bicubic_tm is slower
(maybe for small vectors) or less accurate of bicubic.m (your comment 2. does
not really count for me), I suggest that the final bicubic.m should use by
default my implementation for meshgridded values and your implementation for
scattered values. Moreover, I agree with your comment 1. and 3. and I will not
consider to optimize my bicubic.m for the scattered case.
Can you write the merged version of bicubic.m? Then, we should collect all
the tests proposed by us (Gunnar included) to check that everything is still
working and finally submit a patch.
