Update of bug #33731 (project octave):
Status: None => Need Info
_______________________________________________________
Follow-up Comment #1:
Please give a precise example that can be used to demonstrate the problem of
returning a list of values instead of a matrix?
I see the following behavior with sscanf:
octave:1> str = '1 2 3 a b c';
octave:2> [a, count, msg, pos] = sscanf (str, '%f')
a =
1
2
3
count = 3
msg =
pos = 7
octave:3> str(pos)
ans = a
I updated the doc string to mention the "pos" output in this changeset:
