Follow-up Comment #2, bug #36733 (project octave):
I just converted your 16-bit file to 24-bits using Audacity and it loads
correctly using Octave-3.6.2. I checked, in particular, by using the extra
output argument form of wavread and it got the bits_per_sample correct at 24.
