Follow-up Comment #27, bug #36732 (project octave):

An example of a X pair is:
interp1 ([1,2,2,3,4],[0,1,4,2,1],[-1,1.5,2,2.5,3.5], "linear", "extrap")

In X = [1,2,2,3,4] 2,2 is a pair.
