Follow-up Comment #7, bug #42589 (project octave): Really strange. It sure looks like there is some extra precision that is being kept during calculations. Intel floating point operations can use 80 bits rather than IEEE 64 bits, but I was hoping that the --enable-float-truncate would have taken care of that.
