Follow-up Comment #1:
This is the correct behavior. When you call a graphics object routine and add
PROPERTY/VALUE pairs those parameters are passed to the object being created.
The example code uses plot whose base graphics object is a line. You can
check this with the following code.
h = plot (1:10, "visible", "off");
get (h, {"type"; "visible"})
ans =
{
[1,1] = line
[1,2] = off
}
If you need an invisible figure you will have to start by creating the
invisible figure object.
