Agree with Jordi, these patches are not appropriate.

I already opened a separate bug about optionally enabling C++11 features in
the compiler _if the compiler supports it_, see bug #44965. That is the
appropriate place to talk about how to add the right compiler flags, and it's
basically a solved problem, but will not be done until after 4.0.0 is out.

The first patch should also not look at LLVM_VERSION macros, it should add a
configure.ac test for llvm::DataLayoutPass vs llvm::DataLayout, if that's what
is failing.

And agree about the gnulib patch, can you show an error message or demonstrate
a small example showing what the problem is and why a change is needed?
