Details:

It appears that (at least) on macbooks pro the Meta and Control keys are
switched in Octave-Gui. E.g. when trying to save a file, the configured
shortcut key "Meta + S" doesn't work, whereas actually "Ctrl + S" works. Then,
when trying to correct this shortcut in the Preferences dialog, when pressing
"Command + S" the dialog shows "Control + S".

This makes it pretty obvious that the Meta (i.e. Command) and Control keys are
inversed by Octave-Gui.
