Follow-up Comment #23, bug #51329 (project octave): Removing the traditional option would hamper the migration to Octave from Matlab. Some Matlab code may rely on errors that Octave would allow. Some of the code that I am converting to Octave has really poor practices. Obviously this is not ideal but cause groups to not upgrade Octave to avoid the removal of --traditional in the future.
