Follow-up Comment #1, bug #51891 (project octave):
I can only get this to behave by dragging and docking all of the panels
completely differently than the default layout.
I have a guess, but I don't know how to check this against what the default
qt-settings file is doing.
Is it possible that the previous layout had the Command, Documentation, and
Editor panels docked in a "center" position, but the new layout has then
docked in a "right" position relative to the others? And maybe this gives them
equal weight so the splitter always comes up dividing the window in half?
