Follow-up Comment #1:
The official Octave versions should not be infected with malicious code. At
least the Windows Defender does not seem to detect the gpg-agent.exe as
malware ;-)
To overcome this issue, first make sure, that you are using the latest Avast
version with the latest updates 19.5.4444 (19.5.2378) according to [1,2].
Secondly, make sure, that you have installed the latest major Windows update
including all security updates and neither Windows Defender, nor Avast
complain about any existing Virus issues, before installing Octave.
Please report back, if you still face any issues with Octave afterwards.
