Follow-up Comment #11, bug #55161 (project octave):

Same problem. Can't open a second file when one is open from Google Drive File
Stream (G:\My Drive). This is a painful limitation.

I tried using a Windows 10 hard link to refer to the folder using a name
without spaces. This did not solve the issue. Still can't open a second file
in the Octave editor.
