Follow-up Comment #3, bug #56998 (project octave):
I just notices that the __have_feature__ ("EXEEXT") used to fixed the issue
doesnt actually do what was intended - of returning the extension
It will need to change to __octave_config_info__ ("EXEEXT") at least until
some other method becomes available
