Follow-up Comment #1, bug #57112 (project octave):
Maybe we could add a note to the '-blas' and '-lapack' sections of the
documentation for "version" that the result might be unreliable and depend on
how Octave was compiled.
I agree that making the detection reliable is probably hard or impossible.
