Details:

When attempting to install the image package in dev octave 6, I get an error:

 * install image failed...parse error near line 49 of file
C:\Octave\Octave-6.0.0\mingw64\share\octave\pack
ages\image-2.10.0\labelmatrix.m

  invalid use of operator ++ in anonymous function
