Follow-up Comment #17, bug #50094 (project octave):

Intriguing ... could you attach screenshots of your onscreen figures. Can you
please also make sure you are not setting other options, e.g. through startup
scrips (use "-f" option to start Octave).

The part 


... "units", "normalized", "position", [0.682   0.702   0.25   0.25]


is just meant to have the same size for both figures. I just took it from your
example in comment #0.
