Follow-up Comment #25, bug #58323 (project octave): Thanks, Torsten. The new behavior is more consistent imho. I'm not sure I like the additional lines surrounding the selected code in the command history (or command window fwiw) because I have to press the up arrow key more often to get to previous commands. I'd prefer something more subtle. Maybe prepending two spaces to the front of each line in an F9 block that is added to the history?
