Follow-up Comment #38, bug #58004 (project octave):
(just revisiting this bug)
AFAICS it's only a some-flavors-of-linux problem.
On Windows I haven't ever seen this issue, nor on my Mageia-7 linux systems.
But it *is* hampering reintroducing the xmlread/xmlwrite functions in the io
package, as the octave-forge admin's system is affected.
