Follow-up Comment #1, bug #59201 (project octave):
This is to paraphrase what OP is reporting:
day (now + (1:800)) # gives the day of the month for the next 800 days, as a
COLUMN vector
month (now + (1:800)) # gives an error internal to month
year (now + (1:800)) # gives the year for the next 800 days as a ROW vector
The error in month() is because of lines 39 and 40, where num is a column
vector that is being concatenated with str in a form that only allows
scalars:
num = datevec (varargin{:})(:,2);
str = datestr ([0 num 0 0 0 0], "mmm");
