Follow-up Comment #31, bug #61172 (project octave): Please find attached a patch that solves this issue and reduces the regression of bug #59426 to a minimum (at least on my system). On X11 systems with two monitors, the reported available screen geometry is equal to the total geometry leading to some weird full screen mode of octave. Reducing this total geometry by some pixels is enough to prevent this effect and reduces the change in the horizontal layout (bug #59426) at restart to a few or even no pixels.
