similarly, under stress your computer may change the operating
voltage/frequency of the CPU. this can change power supply behavior, which
typically operate at lower frequencies than the cpu itself. . In some
computers this has been noted to create a change in faint, yet perceptible,
high pitch audible noise, as the human auditory range up to aronud 20kHz.
in any case, unless you're getting deliberate sounds created by the software
(think pc speaker beeps, etc.), there's not much Octave can do about this.

Assuming you're not referring to software generated noise, there's not much
