Follow-up Comment #8, bug #62865 (project octave): I can reproduce that comment #6 behavior with Octave 7.2.0, Windows 10. Markus, I believe you said you're running Win 11? It's possible that the UNC path limitation is no longer a concern? it's possible this is related to the windows UNC in CMD limits, but I think more likely that it's running into the other canonicalizing issue from bug #62847 that creates a completely erroneous path. i didn't realize that fix was pushed to stable. I'll grab a recent build and see if the issue is repeatable there.
