Follow-up Comment #6, bug #65468 (group octave):

The libunwind dependency came in via a recent update to GraphicsMagick.

When I temporarily uninstalled libunwind, GraphicsMagick complained, but I
could cleanly rebuilt it w/o libunwind.

Subsequently, I rebuilt Octave 9.1.0 and the trap 5 error is gone.

A quick search found a related ticket that gives background:

Apparently, this library is unneeded for current macOS versions but has been
kept for backward compatibility.
