thank you for the clarification. I've at least corrected what i think you
meant for the bug summary.
are you suggesting that the ! operator worked the same as the ~ operator as a
placeholder for output variables? Can anyone else confirm that that used to
work, and what change made it stop working? @anonymous, can you share what
octave versions you have used it in?
