Update of bug #55742 (group octave): Status: Duplicate => Ready For Test Open/Closed: Closed => Open Planned Release: None => 10.1.0 (current default) _______________________________________________________ Follow-up Comment #7: appending this here for tracking since it's the report where we first removed the documentation. after discussion on discourse (see https://octave.discourse.group/t/fminsearch-extra-parameters-or-not-we-actually-do-support-it/) it was decided to complete the removal of this functionality from fminsearch, as it was at least somewhat functional but undocumented from v5.1 to v9.1. a patch pushed to stable (for v9.2) here and merged to default adds documentation changes noting that the feature will be removed in v10 and adding the suggested anonymous function alternative to the manual. https://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/0d2a6a831574 follow on patch to default for v10 removes the parameter passing functionality such that an error is issued and updates docs/news accordingly https://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/3f3d7dde7f61 reopening and marking this as ready for test for now. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?55742> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
