Follow-up Comment #25, bug #65605 (group octave):
The result of a git bisect on qtbase produces this commit which causes the
crash.

It seems that this change is the desired behaviour moving forward, so I'm not
sure about submitting a bug report to Qt. I will wait for responses from the
Octave devs to see if they want to code around this new behaviour for
QOpenGLWidget or if they would like Qt to revert the change.
