Follow-up Comment #8, bug #65712 (group octave):

No, it does not:

octave:3> version -hgid
ans = c7b92fa723cc+
octave:4> sort([1,2;3,4], 1)
ans =

   1   2
   3   4

octave:5> sort([1,2;3,4], nan)
error: sort: DIM must be a positive scalar integer
octave:6> sort([1,2;3,4], inf)
--Type <RET> for more, q to quit, c to continue without paging--c

Thread 9 "QThread" received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
