@Dmitri: Command needs to be "clf reset", not just "clf".  Can you re-verify?

I've been reviewing and it goes into C++ in graphics.cc for the "reset"
function.  It becomes quite convoluted.  I think the issue is in
xreset_default_properties(), but I might need to bisect to figure out what
changeset caused this issue so that I don't accidentally undo the fix for
another problem.
