Follow-up Comment #9, bug #64277 (group octave):

I can not reproduce the issue with the steps that you describe. There is only
one ini-file but "show_dbg_file" was really changed by octave until recently.

Have you been running selected code with "keyboard ()" at some point of your
test? We had a very similar issue but this required running selected editor
text, see bug #65617.
