Follow-up Comment #3, bug #65927 (group octave):

it appears that the shape restore just needs the permute changed to ipermute. 
still passes all tests, i think it only seems to matter for dim>2 and there
don't seem to be any nd tests.  I'll work up a patch with some tests.
