So, I've been thinking of several things that need updating on the
website-- some of which I can do, some of which I don't know the info
to put in.
First, I'd like to have a page for the related projects. There are
several GUI and plotting projects currently in the works, and I'd like
to have them mentioned on the website so that these projects can be
easily known and/or found. So, for maintainers of related projects,
can you please send the following information (if you think that there
is more relevant information then let me know):
What kind of project is yours (gui, plotting, etc)?
What is the website or how can someone get the code?
What is the version of your code?
Please also include a paragraph describing your project.
Second, I'd like to update the projects page
(http://www.gnu.org/software/octave/projects.html). This was
autogenerated from projects.texi apparently, so the place to start
with this would be finding then cleaning up projects.texi. If it does
not exist (I couldn't find it by searching the CVS of the website or
the source), then I'd like to start to clean up what's there and
update it.
Third, I'd like to have improved instructions for installation on Mac
and Windows on the website (this may be a better choice for the wiki,
but I'd like an official version somewhere). I recall seeing a couple
of links recently for instructions that covered Mac and Windows
independently. Would the people who put those up be willing to let me
use them (with minor modifications, primarily formatting).
Also, if anyone would like to help with maintaining the web pages,
please let John and me know. I'm working to bring the pages up to
date, but it would be nice in the future to have maintenance handled
by several people so that there is not just one person who is the
webmaster but a team.
