If we go down that road, I'll stop. cran2deb.pl is an almost 2000 lines long
perl script. Sorry, but I'd rather download the packages from Sourceforge and
build them locally just for myself than having such maintenance scripts.
I already have the feeling that building the packages will be more work than
building Octave itself, which is a strong sign for me that we are heading in
the wrong direction.
