Hi,
  Some months ago we discussed how to build something similar to the 
matlab central. I volunteered to look into using drupal 
(http://drupal.org) for such a web site. I have spent some time (not a 
lot, though) and I have come to the conclusion that I'm not up for this 
task. I believe drupal is a good tool for the task, but some 
functionality has to be implemented by us. The most basic functionality 
that needs to be implemented is a drupal plugin that will handle 
uploading of packages. I spent a little time on this, but to be honest I 
found the task to extremely boring. Doing web development is not really 
my thing, so this task felt like doing home work many years ago.
  So, I can't really do this work :-(  If anybody on this list loves 
web development and wants to give a hand, please speak up...
