I've just stumbled upon a bug, that may or may not be related to this
changeset. If I

  a) click somewhere on a plot with the right mouse button without
     releasing it,

  b) move the mouse somewhere else inside the plot, and

  c) release the right button,

then nothing happens, except from then on, I cannot zoom any more using
the mouse wheel.
