Today i met a friend from the Design Department (Umea Univ.) and between other
things i asked her about the application icon and the logo. She really liked
the light cyan-blue application icon and she found it "proper" wrt the theme.
Regarding the logo (the way octave is written) she characterized that with the
term busy (=complex in a bad way). So I described to her the theme and she gave
a (imo) nice simple suggestion which i implemented and attach.
She also mentioned that the key to good/successful design is consistency and
told me to make what designers call visual ID, that is a set of rules about
colors, fonts, color schemes that will clearly state how everything should be
used (for example if you use bounding box it must be blue rgb=[a,b,c] with 5px
rounded corners, or if you use a shortcut logo this should be the three first
letters with orange OC and black T, etc).
Should i work on that or you find it unnecessary?
