OK. With latest changesets including above Ben's test (go_fltk)
looks good.  The resulting PDF is attached.  This was run
on remote server using NX, which previously always
crashed.

Will try more tests tomorrow, but sequencing of drawnow()
definitely looks like it is fixed.
