Hello All,Tell us about yourself.?I majored in Computer Engineering, I started my career was Data Driven Application Developer Web/ Desktop for 1.5 year using Microsoft Development products (C#, ASP.NET SQL Server), the I moved to work as a validation engineer in driving assistance products for for almost 4 years which included development of some supporting tools, and then lately as component developer using C.I am quite comfortable using many programming languages, not exactly an expert in one of them, but quite familiar with many of them ( C/C++, C#, Java, Python).have you used octave?I did not get to be in contact with MATLAB, SCILAB and OCTAVE much at the beginning but after attending several courses in a masters degree that required the use of MATLAB, and given that I started three years ago using only Open Source Software for example Ubuntu ( started to move to Debian lately), I thought there should be always an option for students and others to be able to perform scientific computations and simulations without having to pay a lot of many to do so. I knew that there where alternatives for MATLAB but not with the same magnitude and quality, so I thought I should be involved in development and promotion of a free alternative that will cover almost all what is needed to replace MATLAB. So I used Octave briefly not in depth.have you compiled octave from hg sources?I still did not get to compile octave from the hg sources. What field of math. or physics do you enjoy?I might say that I would prefer applied math, not a certain area in physics, but I might also add my interest in robotics. So in general I am just a software engineer looking forward to help in something useful. This was little brief about myself I hope, that I my experience might be of benefit.Thank you.Best Regards,Khalid Al-Bouhi

HelloI was interested to volunteer in the development of octave, but I need to know where to start and further information on how things exactly work. Thank you
