3.8.1 release

What's our must-have list for 3.8.1?  I see two "blockers" in the bug 
tracker, but they are both OS X GUI issues.  The next two "important" 
bugs are also GUI issues.  So as long as we don't have the GUI enabled 
by default, I guess none of those issues have to block the release.

It's been almost a month since 3.8.0.  I guess it would be nice to see 
3.8.1 within 6 weeks or so of 3.8.0.
