Dear OF package maintainers,
A bug has just been discovered in 'pkg', in relation to PKG_ADD/PKG_DEL
files [1].
This bug impacts downstram packagers that use 'pkg build' followed by
'pkg install' (details are provided in [1, 2]).
As a first idea towards solving this problem, Carnë has proposed to "no
no longer accept PKG_ADD and PKG_DEL files at the root of the package" [1].
Also, Marius Schumla has already proposed a patch for the octave-1.0.tcl
PortGroup [3] for MacPorts, that simply and systematically deletes
PKG_ADD / PKG_DEL located at the root of a package (see also [4, 5]).
If you think that any of this might have some impact on your own
package, or if you have better ideas to solve this problem, please join
the discussion on the bug report [1].
