Given that there are still 2 months of development time, what should the

Would it be possible to have a concerted effort to resolve the problems
with qt and fltk graphics. The following steps could be helpful:
1. Bring together all the known problems, identified by symptom,
software/hardware
dependence, bug report #'s, and available tests.
2. Prioritize the problems.
3. Decide on appropriate actions. Note that Matlab runs checks to
determine which
graphics interface will work. It seeems to start with hardware
accelerated OpenGL
but falls back to software under some conditions (like remote
display). Some form
of testing/fallback will likely be needed no matter how many bugs
are fixed. Currently,
qt/fltk do not work under most remote access paths. The simplest
fix for this could
be to provide a switch to gnuplot in these cases. An additional
action to be considered
could be the merge of qt and fltk code.
4. Try to resolve as many of the problems from 2. above as possible.
