Compile the parallel package using clang

Dear Olaf, 

I tried to install the parallel package on my Mac that uses clang as default 
compiler. The configure scripts terminates with "could not enforce using C++11 
features". Have you testest the package with clang? Is it supposed to work? 

Maybe it's related to the bug report of Mike [1].
