thanks for doing this work for many years. Maybe you can help in
reviewing the first submitted code of new contributors?

Dear Charles and maybe other contributors,

the way to contribute is to first submit some code for reviewing. This
should be done by posting one ore more new changesets to our patch
tracker and announcing this at the maintainers mailing list.
