Follow-up Comment #17, patch #8202 (project octave):

The "$(PACKAGE_NAME)-"prefix seems to be the current way of doing it.  However
the other packages only ship one image.  So maybe using a subdirectory might
be a good idea.  But it might not be what packagers expect.  Since we are
somewhat pioneers here we should probably choose a method which makes the most
sense.  Even if it might cause some initial rage from the packagers.
