Follow-up Comment #26, patch #8656 (project octave):
Apart from structs (difficult, maybe something for later) I'd only have
suggestions of the nitty-gritty type:
- icon size matching that of the other panes
- hiding the command line "openvar ()" message when double clicking in a
variable editor cell
- col width / row height adapting to contents (currently much real estate is
used for white background)
- a tab in the Edit | Preferences menu with specific Variable Editor settings
(suggestions: default column width/ row height; font / font size; nr. of
decimal places for numeric content; column contents alignment
(left/enter/right); etc; etc).
BTW on Windows the contents of a cell array are shown as
b{2, 2}: cell 2Ã2
...should probably be "cell 2x2" ?

(I know I'm repeating myself, but I'm very happy with the variable editor)
