Follow-up Comment #36, patch #8656 (project octave): In: https://www.dropbox.com/s/aq7fwazc9dwbh3h/Octave-4.1.0%2B_w64_setup20150821_unstripped.exe?dl=0 (line wrap!) there's an Octave binary for Win64 with unstripped exe's & octave libs + an msys shell + your latest patch of comment #33. I think you can run Octave from that shell using something along the lines of 'gdb octave-gui' (at least, that's how it works here). Note that only the Octave exe's + libs are unstripped - took me a bit of hacking to make an nsis-installer for that, normally either everything or nothing (incl. dependencies) is stripped.
