Follow-up Comment #13, patch #8783 (project octave):

Thanks for the tests.  This is rather disappointing (*sigh*).  Still, I find
that sometimes OS incompatibility reveals other hidden bugs, so I hope this
will improve the Linux functionality too.

Thanks also for the tip about mxe-octave.  I've just spent the morning doing
things like trying to get msys configured under Wine -- I should have read
your post carefully first!

The next update may take a while to come...
