Follow-up Comment #2, patch #7988 (project octave):

This patch does no longer apply to the current source tree. There are also
some problems with the changed Octave API. I know it's discouraging if there's
no recognition of your patch for more than two years.

Can you provide a patch witch can be applied to the current source? If not
I'll try to rewrite and integrate it.
