Follow-up Comment #7, patch #8990 (project octave):

Addressing the most basic concern which is adding a url to the index file:

The DESCRIPTION file already supports a URL as a standard field. It would be
simple for the generate_html package to get that information and add it to the
page.


octave> [desc] = pkg ("list", "bsltl")
desc = 
{
  [1,1] =

    scalar structure containing the fields:
[...]
      url = http://www.nongnu.org/bsltl/
[...]


Oliver's reasoning about what should and should not be in the package
documentation sounds good though so do consider it when making use of the URL.
