Follow-up Comment #24, patch #9993 (project octave):
In its current state, the patch can hang Octave or fail on errors about non
existing objects, e.g. when running "demo text" and pressing Return repeatedly
to run the next demo fast. This looks like threading issues that must be fixed
prior to integrating the patch, and I don't currently have the time either to
dig seriously and validate the current code. Maybe someone else will jump in
and give his opinion.

AFAICS, jwe is currently restructuring the code base so that the GUI can be
started from a cli session in a tty:

So I think we indeed better wait a bit.
